Zaatar Pure Blend
Tyme Foods' pure blend contains 30% cultivated wild thyme, 30% Sumac, and 30% roasted sesame seeds, and 10% unrefined Mediterranean sea salt. The thyme is grown from seeds of wild thyme found on mountainous hills of Southern Lebanon and is known to produce very flavorful thyme, with qualities including high thymol essential oil content (about 1.2 mg per ounce, and 4 to 40 times multiple the oil content of thyme's from other regions.)
This is a premium processed classic blend as compared to low quality commercial and common grades found elsewhere, which may contain low grade thyme, wheat and other fillings to increase volume, citric acid or other artificial substitutes in place of the Sumac.
You may think that eight ounces of Zaatar may be too much!? especially, that other stores offer it in portions of one or few ounces. We offer it in eight ounce portions (and perhaps one pound in the near future) because we are confident you will enjoy this Zaatar beyond a seasoning or spice. Try it as a dip food by dunking fresh bread or vegetable into olive oil then the Zaatar - sprinkle it on salads, soups, and sandwiches - stir it into a yogurt - knead it into dough and pastry - and experiment with its many culinary possibilities.
Currently shipping Zaatar that was manufactured (ground and mixed) in March of 2017. Best enjoyed before March 1, 2019. Store in airtight container in dry place away from heat or sunlight.
I received my order super fast. The zaatar has the right amount of all the ingredients combined and you can tell it is fresh. The flavor is delicious and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Tasty!...works great on just about everything..eggs, stuffed peppers, dip,salads...enjoy!
Very, very fresh and aromatic. Tried it on sprinkled on Greek pita bread with olive oil. It was delicious.
Your Zaatar is wonderful. I used it mixed with a little flour to coat chicken breasts before browning/cooking. Then I used the fond to make a light gravy with shallots and garlic, then adding juice a lemon and a couple Ttbs of water for a little reduction. Yum.
The Zaatar is excellent for all uses! I sprinkle the plain thyme and sumac in my hot tea.. It's so much easier than finding, cleaning and grinding local VA sumac, which we used to make a cold lemonade-like drink.
Absolutely excellent! I will order again.
So delicious! Can't help but have it with everything i eat!

A delicious balance of savory, citrus, and nutty flavors are found in this zataar. Zataar flat bread is fantastic and makes a great snack or appetizer!
This is one of the best zaatar blends I've tasted, and I've been eating zaatar since I was a kid. Very earthy and fresh taste. Make sure you pair it with a quality olive oil.
Enjoying this zaatar almost on everything. it is delicious. my kids love it as a dip and also sprinkle it on their sandwiches. I have sprinkle it on rice and soups and eggs. I love it with fresh baguette and olive oil. it has strong flavor because it is high quality with no fillings.
I've eaten zaatar since I was a kid and this brand is exceptional. It taste fresh and bold with a strong taste of thyme. Well worth it! I find myself taking pitches of this zaatar and eating it alone. Highly recommended.
This is truly by far the best Zaatar I have purchased in the US. It was very delicious and had a wonderful tangy taste. I recommend sprinkling Zaatar over spaghetti. The kids loved it and ask for it every time they eat spaghetti. I am happy that I don't have to travel far to find good Zaatar. Thank you for bringing this pure and natural zaatar and making it accessible.
So fresh and flavorful! It is the most delicious Zaatar I have ever tasted, and I have tried a lot of different Zaatar blends over the years! It is great with olive oil and naan bread and also makes for a great chicken rub! I will definitely keep a stock of this in my kitchen!
really enjoying this Zaatar. makes other "zaatar" mixes taste and smell really bad and you can't believe they call those others the same "zaatar"
